Regulatory readiness is not created by a final audit. It comes from routine decisions being traceable, evidence being owned and the compliance position being reviewed whenever the technical baseline changes.

Useful governance focuses on the small number of questions that affect delivery: has the requirement changed, does the certification basis still fit, is the planned evidence sufficient and are the right organisations involved?

Keep the evidence close to the decision

Meeting minutes alone rarely provide enough context. A durable record links the decision to the requirement, supporting analysis, affected configuration and accountable owner. The format can be simple as long as it is consistent and accessible.

When that discipline is built into normal programme reviews, teams spend less time reconstructing history and more time resolving the issue in front of them.
